WHAT SIZE DISH

If you live in Valencia Province and want to watch BBC 1 and 2 plus The full range of ITV channels you have to have a big dish. The big dishes come in two sizes of 1.8m and 2.4m. The size of the dish needed depends upon where you live in Valencia Province (please see this page)

If you can live without BBC 1 and 2 and ITV (except ITV 1) you can access most of the channels with a 1.2 m Dish using a sky box with a "Free to View" card

Free UK Satellite TV

With a Freesat Box or a generic set-top box and a big dish its possible to access all the free UK channels but due to evening channel loss (please see this page) you won't be able to receive Channel Four or Channel Five in the evenings. I don't recommend using these boxes and suggest you use a Sky Box with a "Free to View" card

Subscription TV

With Sky subscription card you can access most of the channels with a 1.2m dish (or smaller) including Sky Sports. The basic Sky package for under £20 using a 1.2m dish in Valencia Province gives you a huge amount of TV. Its amazing to me that there are hundreds of retired expats who spend many hours watching TV without a basic Sky subscription card and missing all the wonderful programs, claiming its too expensive, but will regularly spend €20 on a mediocre meal!
