Coaxial Cable
There is a great deal of misinformation written about the advantages and disadvantages of different coaxial cable. In my experience buying expensive cable doesn't give any better results than moderately or low priced cables. The only cable that was definitely below standard was cheap cable from China. The length of the cable up to a hundred meters made no difference to the strength or quality of the signal . However each device used in the length of the cable (diseqcs, splitters etc.) degraded the signal. Inline amplifiers are in my opinion have negative results. Black coaxial cable has a far greater life when used externally.
F Connectors
It is very important that these are attached to the cable in the correct manner
The coaxial cable consists of an outer sheaf, shielding (woven copper wires and copper or aluminum foil), inner plastic core and a copper core (single wire). The inner copper wire must have no contact with the shielding and the shielding must have good contact with the body of the f-connector.
