Adding Channels to Sky - HD Box

Here in Valencia Province we have the weakest signals from Astra 2d and without modifying your Sky Box, you need a minimum 1.8 m dish to access the BBC, ITV, CH 5 and CH 4. Fortunately these channels are also broadcast from Astra 2a which has a strong signal for Valencia viewers (see this page).

To access these channels from Astra 2a you have to add them to other channels as follows:

ITV 1

1. Press the Services Button.
2. Press, in succession but without pausing, 1, 0, 1 and Select. You should now be in the Installer's Menu.
3. Press 5 - Manual Tuning
4. Select the Frequency (GHz) box line and type in 12402. Don’t change the other settings. Scroll down to " Find Channels" and press Select. This will bring up a signal strength and quality display. At the bottom of the page press "select" to continue
5. select the channels you want by scrolling down to the channel and pressing the yellow button . For Free View Cards and subscription cards its any Itv region plus ITV +1Ch 4 and Ch 4+1. When you have selected the channels press "select" to continue
6. Channel Line Up Complete . Press Select to continue

Channel 4

1. Press the Services Button.
2. Press, in succession but without pausing, 1, 0, 1 and Select. You should now be in the Installer's Menu.
3. Press 5 - Manual Tuning
4. Select the Frequency (GHz) box line and type in 12480 Don’t change the other settings. Scroll down to " Find Channels" and press Select. This will bring up a signal strength and quality display. At the bottom of the page press "select" to continue
5. select the channels you want by scrolling down to the channel and pressing the yellow button . For Free View Cards its Ch 4 and Ch 4+1. For Sky Subscription cards its what ever you want (they are all available). When you have selected the channels press "select" to continue
6. Channel Line Up Complete . Press Select to continue
7. Your screen should now display "Searching for Listings". Wait a couple of minutes for channel 998 to "come in". The process is now complete, and you should be able to select the channel of your choice

Channel Five

1. Press the Services Button.
2. Press, in succession but without pausing, 1, 0, 1 and Select. You should now be in the Installer's Menu.
3. Press 5 - Manual Tuning
4. Select the Frequency (GHz) box line and type in 12402. Go to the next line down where it says "polarization" and change the Vertical to Horizontal using the left / right button on your remote. Don’t change the other settings. Scroll down to " Find Channels" and press Select. This will bring up a signal strength and quality display. At the bottom of the page press "select" to continue
5. Select the channels you want by scrolling down to the channel and pressing the yellow button. When you have selected the channels press "select" to continue
6. Channel Line Up Complete . Press Select to continue

TO VIEW ITV 1, Channel Four and Five on the “OTHER CHANNELS LIST”

If you have a big dish firstly access the channels in the normal way and only go to other channels when it fails on the TV guide If you a small dish and you want these channels go directly to the other Channel lists

Press services and select other channels and select the channel you wish. Note if you press the orange button you will delete the channels
