RESETTING THE STANDARD SKY BOX

When your box says no signal is being received it is only referring to the frequency responsible for the channel list. This is caused by a loss of power to the box

You have to reset the box as follows:

STEP ONE

Turn the power off by removing the black cable at the back of the digi box. Wait a few seconds and plug it in. Turn the box on with the remote - until the box shows a green light, not a red one. Check once again to see if there is a correct date and time on the box. If there’s no date and time proceed to step two.

STEP TWO

  1. Press the Services Button.
  2. Press, in succession but without pausing, 4, 0, 1 and Select. You should now be in the Installer's Menu.
  3. Press 2 - Default Transponder.
  4. Press the red button to reset all settings
  5. Select the Frequency (GHz) box line and type in 12129 (the default is 11778). Don’t change the other settings. Scroll down to Save New Settings and press Select. This will bring you back to the Installers Menu.
  6. Press Back Up Three Times.
  7. Check to see if there is a correct date and time on the box. if the date and time have not appeared try again using these frequencies 12441, 12051 or 12207
  8. Your screen should now display "Searching for Listings".  Wait a couple of minutes for channel 998 to "come in". The process is now complete, and you should be able to select the channel of your choice
