Vallanca is situated on a rocky peak and the streets and houses have been adapted to the abrupt slopes and some have been built into the cliffs. The Town Hall square is particularly attractive with its 17th century Baroque church and its traditional houses with wooden balconies. Nearby is the old granary and tithe house, several old noble houses and magnificent look out points. There is a network of tunnels running under the village and many are used as wine cellars.
