La Serranía is one of the most mountainous regions in the province of Valencia. These severe and harsh lands possess a wild beauty marked by an intriguing network of riverbeds, rivers and ravines at the foot of rocky peaks soaring to heights of a thousand meters, amidst vineyards producing fine wines such as the Alto Turia varieties. The Turia river and the Benagéber reservoir form one of the main axes of this region renowned for its woodlands and recreation areas

The reservoir at Benagéber reservoir ( is the ideal place for water sports and it is surrounded by pine-covered hills, that make the perfect place for hiking, climbing and other rural pursuits. The GR-7 and GR-10 international footpaths run across this region.
