The Impala (Aepyceros melampus) is Kruger National Park’s most abundant antelope and one of its most ele-gant. Rams display striking spiral horns, while ewes remain hornless, and adults typically weigh 50–80 kg. Impalas are exceptionally fast — reaching up to 90 km/h — yet remain a favoured prey for predators, espe-cially leopards.
This video brings together beautiful Impala footage from the Letaba, Olifants, and Satara regions. Alongside their graceful behaviour, you’ll hear their distinctive snorts, alarm calls, and rutting sounds as males com-pete for breeding rights. A truly iconic antelope often overlooked by visitors.
