A trail camera was placed on private land in the wilderness of New York and shows a surprising array of wildlife and animals including bobcats, coyotes, bears, deer, owls and turkeys.
Despite being a centre of huge population, New York has enormous biodiversity and the number of species which live or migrate through the state is in the tens of thousands.
New York's official state mammal is the Beaver, which appears on the official seal and flag of New York City. The sport mascot of the City College of New York is a Beaver and there is Beaver Street in Lower Manhattan.
The Beaver played a valuable part in the early economy of North America with the very profitable fur trade.
