Meet the largest and heaviest lizard in the world - the Komodo dragon. Naturalist Patrick Aryee gets up close and reveals fascinating facts about these carnivorous reptiles and we witness the unique way larger Komodo dragons take down their prey - and hunt a wildebeest over twice their size.
Komodo dragons are one of the few lizards with a venomous bite. They are endemic on a few islands in southeastern Indonesia, including Komodo, Rinca, Gili Montang, Gili Dasami, and Flores. Their habitat includes tropical savanna grasslands and forests, where they roam from the beaches to the ridge tops.
