Glass frogs are tiny, translucent amphibians from the central and south American rain forests. They are named for their see-through bellies that reveal their beating hearts and internal organs. This transparency helps glass frogs blend seamlessly into their surroundings, making it much more difficult for predators to differentiate them from the leaf or branch on which they are sitting.
