Information: Funny video showing very vocal loud siamang apes at a zoo. Enjoy watching and listening to these booming siamangs as they use their large throat sacks to make vocalisations. They make two different kinds of notes: a deep boom (when they sing into the sac with their mouth closed) and a loud "wow" (when they sing into the sac with their mouth opened).

The siamang is an arboreal, black-furred gibbon native to the forests of Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, where they live in small family groups and primarily feed on fruits and leaves.

The International Union for Conservation of Nature lists the siamang as Endangered. Their numbers have declined by 50 percent over the past 40 years, primarily because of the illegal pet trade and habitat loss.
