A rescued Ruppell's griffon vulture is hand fed and demonstrates just how good these vultures are at stripping meat from the bone. Its beak is strong and hooked and designed to tear flesh, muscles and skin from the carcass of a dead animal.
In the wild, the vultures bald head and neck, prevents the messy accumulation of blood and bits of flesh, as it delves inside the body cavity of a carcass.
